Collecting & Analyzing Data

One of URRO's core services is collecting and analysing statistics on the usage of works throughout Uganda. The evidence we gather is essential for understanding the true scale of copying — both lawful and infringing — and for making informed decisions about licensing and royalty distribution.

We methodically gather information on how text and image-based works are reproduced across tertiary institutions, schools and other user organisations. Monitoring these usage trends allows URRO to detect unlawful copying and support compliance with the Copyright and Neighbouring Rights Act.

The analysis gives an accurate picture of the infringement landscape, allowing URRO and partner agencies to take appropriate action to defend creators' rights, while also streamlining licensing and ensuring royalties are distributed fairly and transparently.
