Representing & Protecting Authors' Interests

URRO represents and protects the professional, economic, moral and other interests of Ugandan authors and publishers. This means advocating for the rights and well-being of creators, ensuring their works are respected and fairly compensated.

Representing creators requires a thorough approach to advocacy. URRO actively supports rightholders, ensuring their voices are heard in legal, economic and professional discussions that affect them.

Over the years URRO has organised workshops, stakeholder dialogues and information sessions with policymakers, the media, educational institutions and the general public to advocate for fair use of works and stronger protection for Ugandan creators.

This work enriches Uganda's cultural and educational ecosystem and gives creators the confidence and security they need to keep producing high-quality literary and artistic works.
